People Portraits by dustsplat People Portraits by dustsplat

I've been doing a bunch of portrait studies of people around me recently trying to streamline my process and trying out  palettes I'm not necessarily comfortable with.  An individual and larger size version of each portrait can be seen on my cghub page as well as my blog.  I was able to save some process shots if anyone is interested.

Here are the links

Thanks for looking !:)

Every time I see these I feel like I'm looking at a digital VampHungerStrike piece cos of the color scheme as whole. But with jucier edges...

Hahhahahaa. Lolz!

Its the goatee, it threw me off.

You must do one of Pier!

I was gona ask, do u tablet or cintiq?
I tried a 300 dollar droid tablet with sketch book pro app, and its like mini cintiq but easier to hold.

tablet at home, cintiq at the office. is the droid tablet good? ive tried the surface 2 with full blown photoshop. its pretty nice. ive also tried the ipad air with procreate with a pressure sensitivity pen, it works great as well

This guy I met, who is art directing at blizzard, let me try his tablet with sketchbook pro from autodesk.

And in like 5 minutes of messing around, of course I had no time to see how well that setup handles digital finished paintings, but the sketch that I made gave me a smile because it was just like using a pencil on paper, and I miss that in  tablet.

Eventhough Iain Mccaig once said that when painting with a tablet its like painting with ur MIND! and not ur hands... I still kinda miss seeing my hands in there lolz.

So instead of buying a full on cintiq I think getting the driod setup. Must read reviews.  Will check out the IpadAir, but 300 dollar driod looks nicer compare to 800 IpadAir, lolz.

Man... I should of spent time and participated in LoL art contest, I would of had a cintiq by now... Oh well.

How Long did it take u to adjust to the cintiq's gap of screen and pen?
And do u have a cintiq table arm, or single motion screen arm? because I cant imagine someone leaning over to its conventional table stand.
