finally done with this thing. the assignment was to illustrate a scene from a story of our choosing. i chose the scene when the wolf leads her off to go to "the woods" while he secretly goes off ot grannies.
Got tired of the whole generic look of the story. i mean, c'mon. . the same style of clothing and setting has been done the same way over the years. i made the place more urban and just named it "the woods." plus drawing a bunch of trees wasnt exciting for me.
time it took - 3 weeks of sleepless nights from scratch to finish.
painted completely in photoshopCS2
no ref used watsoever. just kept painting till it looked right. and trust me. there was a lot of backtracking and undo-ing.
i need to step up my colors. i need to get better. . . .
--EDIT-- adjusted the contrast here and there. the first time wasnt the way it was suppose to look like. duno if it was the screen i was looking at or watever. was switching between a mac and PC. ..well. .watever. .
Wonderful! I love this! The colors are utterly amazing... they're dark yet light in the same sense; and with the expressions on each of the character's faces it makes it feel like your actually walking through the market.
I love how your able to make your own little worlds and just by the way you show us your perspective, looks like you literally dropped us in on whatever city you've created. It reminds me of the article in the ImagineFX magazine. Congrats on that if I never told you. Great work! I always look forward to your style and creative designs

wow! i realy love you take on the old fairy tale. And hey, it doesn't realy matter, old fairy tales can be viewed in all fashions. i realy love this pic, again beautifull. And i happento agree with you, it's boring just to see her skipping through a forest like the usual. And so i give you two thumbs up! and another to add to my favorites. :claps:
